World Cup Cake Off: The results

So, in case you missed it earlier in the week, me and Tom had a World Cup Cake Off! We took our cakes to work on Monday (thankfully, they made it in one piece) and shared them out around the office. And the unanimous result is…

…a draw! 🙂 Haha!

To make two cakes in our brownie pans, we used 5 eggs and 10oz/280g of butter, sugar and flour. My cake was a lemon sponge with buttercream and homemade lemon curd in it. Tom made a chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream – I have to say that it was super tasty!

So here’s to the next World Cup cake in 2018! I’ve spotted these hemisphere cake pans, so maybe an actual football cake next time…? There’s plenty of time to think about it I guess! 🙂
