Retro floral felt hoop | Hello! Hooray!

Retro floral felt hoop tutorial with Bibelot Magazine

My latest project went live yesterday – it’s a retro floral felt hoop tutorial with Bibelot Magazine!Β Β I really wanted to design something that fits in with their style, and so I thought a retro-themed project would be perfect. I love the patterns of the 60s and 70s so took inspiration from these to design this 8″ hoop. I love the textures of the layers of felt! And the colour combination is inspired by retro colours too. Everything is hand cut and had stitched, but if you’ve got a snazzy cutting machine then you could use that instead.

This felt is made from recycled plastic bottles, so it’s vegan-friendly and good for the environment too! I was really surprised at the selection of colours – they are so vibrant, and the felt is lovely to work with. You’ll find all the details along with downloadable templates on the Bibelot Magazine website. And if you missed my interview with them a few weeks ago, you can read that here.

I love this – can’t believe it is hand-stitched Clare, the stitches are sooooo even! Enjoyed reading the interview too. Happy stitching in 2018 and best wishes with your plans, Judy xx
