I’ve never really got into ‘scrapbooking’ as a thing, but recently I’ve discovered that scrapbook paper is brilliant for projects where you need a small print. The first project that I did using scrapbook paper was to line the insides of my wooden drawers, and I’ve been thinking of new things to do with it ever since! I always send thank you cards for Christmas and my birthday, so I made these cards and I’m really pleased with how they turned out!

I found these Mambi cards and Seen and Noted scrapbook papers in TKMaxx (they always have good bargains in there!) and thought that they would be perfect together! I decided to use my stamps again for these cards, as it’s always good to have an excuse to be able to use them

The first step was to match the cards and papers and then stamp ‘thank you’ on the paper.

I stamped on four different designs of paper, but used blue ink for each one.

Once dry, I cut out a rectangle and then cut two strips of double-sided tape to stick on the back.

Then it can be stuck to the card. Ta-dah!

After I made the cards, I decided to make some envelopes to go with them using this funky paper!

There was one problem though – I realised after I’d made them that the Mambi cards are too big for my envelopes…argh! So I sent the card and envelope in a bigger one – I didn’t want them to go to waste! If you’d like to make your own envelopes, check out my tutorial!

I’m a firm believer in sending thank you cards, whatever your age! I’m always trying to think of new ideas for cards, and this year I found some lovely letterpress letters in one of my favourite shops (I’ll be doing a post about it shortly…) and thought that they would be perfect. I don’t have a roller for ink so I just used my normal ink pads, but I quite like the texture of the printing. Hopefully, everyone we sent a card to has received it, so they won’t mind me telling you about them!

You will need:

Letterpress stamps – I used a T and a Y
An ink pad in a colour or colours of your choice
Some card (and possibly a trimmer if you need to cut it down to size)
A pencil and ruler
A pen in a colour of your choice

First, I measured the card and cut it to size A6 pieces, and then I measured half way along and scored the edge to fold it into a size A7 card.

Then I stamped a T and a Y in red ink, slightly off centre.

When that was dry, I wrote in the rest of ‘thank you’.

And that’s it – how easy is that?! I’m really pleased with how they turned out We sent them out in some little yellow envelopes that I made. If you’d like to make your own, then you can check out my mini envelope tutorial here.

Photo cards are really simple to make, and you can customise them for every occasion. I do find myself looking at a view and thinking ‘that would make a lovely card’, so be warned – once you’ve started, you’ll always be looking for that perfect photo! You just need a few simple things to be able to make beautiful cards for all occasions. Say thank you to a friend, remind someone of a happy time together or say Happy Birthday – the possibilities are endless!

You will need:

A selection of 6 x 4 photos
A selection of A4 card in colours of your choice
Some double-sided sticky tape
A pencil and ruler
A paper trimmer
Scissors

Step 1. Measure half way along the card and trim it so that you have two smaller pieces. Carefully fold in half again to make your card.

Step 2. Trim the photo to fit the card. I like to leave a fairly large border around the edge, but you could leave a narrow one if you prefer.

Step 3. Measure two lengths of tape and stick them on the back. Carefully stick the photo onto the card, and turn it over to press it down so that you don’t get fingerprints on the photo.

And that’s it! Super easy but really effective. This photo is of a Queen of the Night tulip that we had in our garden a couple of years ago, but you could use any photo for any occasion. This was the willow tree we had in our garden (before it blew over!):

<img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-8399" src="http://hellohooray.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Willow-photo-card.jpg" alt="Willow photo card | Hello!

And these were some holiday snaps!
