Oh Clare, I had a feeling things were not all rainbows and unicorns but who would have guessed. I am so sorry you had such a difficult time and had to experience those heartaches. However I am more than grateful that you seem to have a loving family and support system. That is all that matters in the end. I am glad you are feeling better and I believe it is a show of strength to ask for help. So it is a good thing you took that time off work.
Also congrats on writing a book in all this. How crazy is that? I am excited to see the works you did there.

Anna, thank you so much for reading and for getting in touch. There really isn’t a lot of conversation about it at all, but when I opened up to a few people about it I realised how many people have experienced it. And it’s so sad that it seems to be a taboo subject, when a little conversation would go a long way to helping women feel like they haven’t failed or many of the other emotions that you feel when you lose a baby. I’m sure that Helen is – she proof-read it for me and I feel like she’s a special part of it! xxx

Aww Clare, such a raw and emotional post. I’m in tears here. You write so well and your honesty and emotion is inspirational. I had no idea about your miscarriage and know from friends how devastating this can be. There really is not much conversation around this topic and I feel that a lot of times it’s brushed off as “oh well, that happens a lot”, especially if it happens before the supposed “safe” 3 months. I only know that to lose a life you were growing, at whatever stage, must be heart breaking and while you can take joy from the fact that you have 2 lovely little poppets, they’ll always be sadness for the angel in the sky. You really have had all of the emotions. Here’s hoping that things are looking up. I’m sure Helen is watching over you and your book project sounds very exciting. Big hugs xxx
