Vintage floral embroidery lesson
Have you ever wanted to learn hand embroidery? Or maybe you did it at school but quite fancy coming back to it?! Then this is just what you are looking for!
What will I learn?
In this 2-hour vintage floral embroidery lesson, Clare will teach you everything you need to know to stitch a beautiful floral bouquet. The design is based on authentic vintage patterns, and is a perfect introduction to hand embroidery. It uses a variety of basic hand sewing stitches: straight stitch, back stitch, lazy daisy, French knots and satin stitch – so you don’t need to know hundreds of stitches to be able to create something beautiful!
Clare will introduce you to the basic materials required, and you will use a mixture of standard embroidery thread and perle thread. You will also learn how to transfer the design onto fabric using an air erasable pen.
What else do I get?
All materials will be provided in this lesson:
- 15cm (6”) hand painted beech wood embroidery hoop
- Linen fabric
- Air erasable pen
- Pattern and full instructions (with step-by-step photos)
You will also be able to borrow additional tools (e.g. scissors) during the lesson.
