Rope rainbows online workshop
My workshops are now going online.
The rope rainbows online workshop is here! 2020 was the year I was going to kick-start my workshop programme, but for obvious reasons (thanks, Covid 19!), this didn’t quite go to plan. So I’m really excited to be able to bring you the online version of this workshop. It will be delivered through a series of short video tutorials in a Facebook group, which means that you can work at your own pace when it suits you (see more about that below). You will receive all materials and information about how to join the group in the post.
What will I learn in the rope rainbows online workshop?
I will talk you through each step to create a wonderful rope rainbow hoop. The videos are in short sections so that you can easily find where you got up to and pick up from there! I’ll show you how to prepare the fabric and the rope, how to wrap the thread and attach the sections to the fabric. You’ll also learn how to stitch a simple back stitch to add some text underneath, as an air erasable pen is included. You could write a name, a phrase or words that mean a lot to you! The great thing is that the pen can be used again and again for future projects.
What’s included in the box?
All materials will be provided:
- 15cm (6”) hand painted beech wood embroidery hoop
- Linen fabric
- Cotton rope
- Air erasable pen
- Thread (standard DMC thread and perle thread)
- Needles and pins
All of this comes in a handy box to keep it all together and the packaging is 100% recyclable. In addition to the materials you receive in the post, you will also need a pair of sharp scissors. The ones that I use in the video can be found here in my haberdashery.
Why is this workshop being delivered via a Facebook group?
In order to try to best recreate the feeling of a workshop, I decided to use a Facebook group for delivery of the videos. This means that everyone taking part has access to a discussion board, so you can ask me questions quickly and easily, and you can ‘meet’ the other people taking part. If you don’t want to participate in the group that’s absolutely fine, but the materials can only be accessed via the group. It was really important to me to be able to create a sense of meeting up but without being live (because teaching live is impossible for me with two children under 5!), so this is the best way for me to achieve that.
Using a Facebook group for delivery means that you can easily give this workshop as a gift! Just let me know the name of the person who will be signing up to the group (just add it to the notes box at checkout).
Postage and Delivery
These materials will be ready to post in 5-7 business days. I am currently doing 2 post office trips each week.
It will be sent 1st class standard delivery in the UK (unless purchased with a stitched item, in which case it will be sent 2nd class signed for with additional items). You can upgrade to 1st class signed for by adding this listing to your basket (UK only).
All international items will be sent tracked and signed for, just to give extra peace of mind during these uncertain times as international post is taking much longer than usual. If you would like to add any additional items to an international order, please contact me for a quote before ordering.
Please make sure that you have read the Terms and Conditions before ordering.
UK customers can use code 'free50' to get free postage on orders over £50!
Please note that I am currently posting twice a week on MONDAYS and THURSDAYS, in order to limit trips to the Post Office during the pandemic. Thanks so much for understanding, and stay safe!
