Prym heat transfer pen
This is a great tool to have in your sewing box.
The Prym heat transfer pen is a great tool to enable you to permanently transfer designs to fabric. It has a fairly thick tip, and writes with purple ink. This pen is designed to be used with hand embroidery transfer paper, and the paper can usually be used a couple of times. The ink from this pen is very vibrant, and it has been designed to work on lots of types of fabrics including natural fibres, as well as for synthetic fabrics, blended fabrics and silks. I recommend using a permanent method of transfer in many projects featured in my book, Colourful Fun Embroidery.
How does the Prym heat transfer pen work?
This pen requires heat to transfer the design onto the fabric. You simply use it with some transfer paper by tracing a reverse outline of your design onto the paper, before ironing it onto the fabric the right way around. Use a very cool iron to do this! My paper packs come with full written instructions to guide you, and I have also written a full blog post and recorded a video tutorial to show you how the pens and paper work in more detail.
