I made this after seeing Lorraine making it on TV show few days ago. To be honest I was very disappointed with the dish. My husband raided the fridge for something to get rid off its taste in his mouth. The flavors and textures don't work, the lack of creaminess, I don't know it needs something I can't pint point. It looked like great idea 'on the paper' but we won't be repeating it.

Hello Sue, I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy Lorraine Pascale's recipe. I guess leaving out two of the key ingredients to bring out the flavour would have left it tasting rather bland! Hope you have found a more suitable recipe to try next time.

Butternut squash and Sweet Potato Lasagne.
Tried this recipe but didn't have any pine nuts and left out the ginger as a family member doesn't like it. Other than that followed recipe no problems, used whole wheat lasagne as that's what I had in the cupboard.
Result: no one liked it; taste, flavour, texture, creaminess etc was to be honest horrible, in fact the only one redeeming factor was the topping. What didn't get eaten (about half) went straight in the food recycling bag.
This is one veggie meal that will never be repeated, which is a shame as I had high hopes for it.

Good plan! You could probably try using pecorino instead - not quite as strong (I don't think!) and is of a similar texture, so it might work! Let me know what you think if you do try it!
