Fabric covered magazine files

It’s that time of year where I like to get organised for the year, although it is a little more tricky this year given that our house is completely upside down with the building work! But I’m trying to sort things out where I can, and decided that I needed a little bit more storage for my ever-growing collection of craft magazines. I have had this project in mind for a while now and then I spotted this gorgeous fabric by Cloud 9 on sale in John Lewis and I knew that they would be perfect craft storage – and at £7 per metre it was a bargain too! Little house trinket shelves

I’ve had my eye on these little house shelves for some time now, and have been planning to customise them with pretty fabrics. You can pick them up on Ebay quite easily and I’ve been excited to get around to doing them! 🙂 I painted the houses white a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I began working on the really fun bit – selecting and sticking in the fabric. These little houses are perfect for storing little trinkets, and I picked fabrics with small prints so that you can see enough pattern in the back.

Lined wooden drawers (part 2)

I’ve had a lot of time to craft over the past few days – even more so than usual because Tom has been busy working to finish a deadline for the opera that he’s working on! So I’ve been left to my own devices and as well as trying out some new dishes, I’ve lined my other set of mini wooden drawers. I spent a while looking around for some snazzy paper for them and decided to go for some lovely scrapbooking paper because they have smaller patterns and I wanted each drawer to coordinate as a set.
