If you follow me on Instagram (or you’ve seen the photos in my feed on my blog) then you may already know that yesterday our new Kitchen Aid mixer was delivered! I can’t believe we actually got one, after so long saying ‘I’d LOVE one of those!’. We chose the pistachio colour in the end, as it will look so lovely with our new kitchen when we get it done in a couple of months. That’s another exciting project to tell you about, but that’s for another time!

Ginger Crunch | Hello! Hooray!

This weekend looks set to be a lovely sunny weekend, so get your picnic baskets out and get out there! This recipe for Ginger Crunch is the perfect to make to take out on a picnic – it really is so SO good 🙂 Ginger is definitely one of my favourite flavours, and if (like me) you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love this recipe! The fudge topping is really easy to make, and will set really quickly at room temperature, so no need to put it in the fridge. The original recipe says to use a 24 x 34 cm baking tin, but I used my brownie pan to get a much thicker version!

Dark chocolate and ginger cookies

I absolutely love The Great British Bake Off, and am already hooked on the new series! I’ve just got the books of two previous winners, and this recipe come from John Whaite Bakes (John won the third series). It’s one of those books where you want to make everything in it! I love the photography in the book, and it’s a really good read. I decided to make these cookies first because we had most of the ingredients in our cupboard, but also because dark chocolate and ginger are two of Tom’s favourite things!
