The lovely Kate from Beak Up Crafts has set up her Make It March photo-a-day challenge over on Instagram. Have you heard about it? As you know, I love Instagram and I also love a photo challenge, so I decided I’d sign up! It’s a great way to meet other crafters and see what they’re up to. Read More
In case you missed my post, I have been featured in issue 47 of Craftseller magazine as their Blogger of the Month – yay! I am super excited about this (as if you hadn’t guessed!), especially as I was asked to design a copyright-free tutorial for their website. The design that appears there is a little bird felt brooch, but I had lots of other ideas when I was designing it and I thought I would put a bonus design on my blog too! Read More
It’s that time of year where I like to get organised for the year, although it is a little more tricky this year given that our house is completely upside down with the building work! But I’m trying to sort things out where I can, and decided that I needed a little bit more storage for my ever-growing collection of craft magazines. I have had this project in mind for a while now and then I spotted this gorgeous fabric by Cloud 9 on sale in John Lewis and I knew that they would be perfect craft storage – and at £7 per metre it was a bargain too! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and although we’re not having a tree this year (on account of our fridge freezer and washing machine camping out in our living room) we have put up a couple of things to try and bit a little bit festive! I had my eye on these gorgeous mini glass baubles from Paperchase for a few weeks, and then came up with the idea for this little garland. The baubles are 2cm in diameter, so are just perfect for this project! It’s SO easy to make and you can have it made and on display in about 20 minutes. Yay!
My friend Donna has recently taken over the running of her local Brownie pack – yes, she’s a Brown Owl! How cool is that?! I was in the Brownies and then the Guides when I was a girl, although I don’t think I really appreciated them as much as I should have done at the time. In many ways I’d like to go back now, but Helen pointed out that I should probably join the WI instead! Read More
I bought this gorgeous vintage teal suitcase last year with the intention of re-lining it – in fact, I looked at my original post about it and realised that I got it in March! I had a bit of practice at re-vamping a suitcase when I made my travelling craft suitcase, but that was made from a new case rather than a vintage one. So this was new territory for me and I really didn’t want to mess it up! I spent ages looking for the perfect fabric, and eventually found this tape measure fabric on Ebay. Continue reading…

Last week, I wrote a post about the variety of online tutorials available on how to make bunting, but for some reason it wouldn’t upload and then it deleted itself! So now I’m going to try to recreate it…I really want to have a go at making some bunting for our garden at some point this year. Hopefully, we’ll actually be able to use our garden this year – last year it rained most of the time! Continue reading…
