Christmas lights in Maryport

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2013 brings you peace, happiness and many new adventures.

I’m not usually very good at sticking to the resolutions that I make, but I can keep trying! In 2013 I’m going to keep in touch with my friends by writing more letters, try to cook at least two new recipes every month and (weather dependent) I will take better care of my garden.

What are your resolutions going to be?

Kitsch Christmas Cake

We spent Christmas in York with my Mum and Dad this year, and had such a wonderful time! It was really lovely to relax and spend some time with them. I just had to share this photo of the cake Mum had made – she said she’d decorated it how I used to do it when I was younger, which is basically fitting as many decorations as possible on the top! I love the kitsch style of it, and it tasted amazing too!

Hello | Hello! Hooray!

The first post on my new blog!

The first post on a new blog is always a momentous occasion. It feels as though you should say something important andΒ thought-provoking, which is always really tough! I have to say that I can’t think of anything like that at the moment (sorry!)Β but I am really excited to be writing this new blog aboutΒ the things that I love –Β crafts, cooking and gardening. Some things that will appear here will be tried and tested favourites, others will be new adventures (such as crochet, which could produce some interesting results…). I hope you enjoy reading my ramblings – feel free to get in touch!
