Right on track


I’ve been doing some more sewing for our wedding today, and am pleased that I’ve finished waistcoat number four out of six (minus the buttons and buttonholes…still not been brave enough to start those yet!). I’ve set myself a target for the end of June to have them all done, so I’m right on track at the moment..let’s see how long that lasts…I made some labels for the hangers today too, because I was starting to get a bit confused about which waistcoat was which – so now I know 🙂 Yay, super excited!

If at first you don’t succeed…


Today was one of those days where I spent more time undoing mistakes than anything else! I’ve been working on Tom’s waistcoat for our wedding and eventually managed to get it put together after forgetting to leave an opening to turn it inside out and forgetting to sew the neck together (only realising having turned it the right way round). So now I’ve written a reminder on the pattern because this is the second time I’ve forgotten about the neck! Continue reading…

Brightening up a gloomy day


It has been a bit of a gloomy day today – I’m just watching the news and am surprised to hear that some parts of England have had snow today! So to cheer you up, here’s a lovely photo I took a few weeks ago. This is a daffodil obdam – simply beautiful! I haven’t used any photo effects here, I was just lucky with the light 🙂

Tuna, courgette and tomato pasta bake


I was quite surprised when I looked through my blog posts earlier and discovered that I haven’t posted this recipe before – it is one of those ‘tried and tested’ ones that I’ve been making for years! In fact, my Mum used to make it when I was younger and it was one of the few things that I could actually cook when I left home to go to uni. You can use any pasta you like for this – macaroni works really well – but I used penne today. It was either that or our Simpsons pasta that Helen bought us – but you wouldn’t have recognised the Simpsons for the courgettes so we’re saving that for another day! Continue reading…
