Letterpress Thank You cards

I’m a firm believer in sending thank you cards, whatever your age! I’m always trying to think of new ideas for cards, and this year I found some lovely letterpress letters in one of my favourite shops (I’ll be doing a post about it shortly…) and thought that they would be perfect. I don’t have a roller for ink so I just used my normal ink pads, but I quite like the texture of the printing. Hopefully, everyone we sent a card to has received it, so they won’t mind me telling you about them! Continue reading…

My 2014 crafty plans

Happy New Year to you all! 🙂 It’s that time of year when people think about new starts and resolutions. I don’t make resolutions because I never manage to stick to them, and then I beat myself up about it a bit too much. So instead, I try to make plans and set a few goals – that way I’m more relaxed about the whole thing! Last year I said that I would write more letters (I managed a few), cook at least 2 new recipes every month (which I managed – often more than 2!) and that I’d look after my garden more (this didn’t happen – oops!).

This year, my main aim is to learn to crochet. I would also like to learn how to make my own stamps, and to make my first quilt. So just a few things – haha! 🙂

The picture on this post is something that I’m working on at the moment, but it’s top secret! I’m dying to share it with you but I’ll have to keep it to myself for a little while longer! Look out for a post or two soon though…

What are your crafty plans for 2014?

Angie Lewin: A Natural Line

We recently visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to look around Angie Lewin’s exhibition, A Natural Line. Her work is absolutely beautiful and I’ve put together this mini gallery of photos of some of her sketchbooks and materials on display.

The exhibition is running until 23rd February 2014, and you can find out more here.
