Project Life: September 2014

I’ve been working on my Project Life album a bit differently this month – it’s definitely been more of a ‘do a little bit in a spare 5 or 10 minutes’ kind of thing instead of sitting down and doing it for an afternoon. This is partly because I was waiting for a few photos to arrive, and then I waited to have enough for another order instead of just ordering a few at a time. But that’s one of the things I like about it – you can just pick up where you left off last! Read More

Cholesterol busting chicken curry | Hello! Hooray!

Cholesterol busting chicken curry

If you’re looking for a healthy but really super delicious curry recipe, then look no further! This curry is amazingly good and is taken from The Medicinal Chef: Healthy Every Day by Dale Pinnock. It has become one of our go-to recipes because it’s also pretty quick to make, so we often make it during the week. It serves 4 so we eat a bit on the day we make it and then freeze the rest. [Edit: we’ve found this to be a great meal for Baby Led Weaning and Little One loves it! See more on this below]. Read More

A trip to Beamish

For those of you who have never been, Beamish is an open air museum and it is described as being ‘the living museum of the North’.  Read More

Squidgy flapjack

I can’t really remember where this flapjack recipe came from, but we’ve been making it for years and have passed it on to so many people! I was actually very surprised to find that I haven’t blogged it before, so it’s good to finally post it. I’ve called it ‘squidgy flapjack’ because you get that gorgeous syrupy texture with this really easy recipe – no dry flapjacks here! It really is a lovely sugary treat. Read More

Sewing machine cover

I spotted this amazing fabric about a week ago and immediately began thinking about what I could possibly make with it in order to justify buying it (know that feeling too?!). Then I read a post on Tilly Walnes’ blog about keeping sewing machines dust free, and decided that it would be perfect as a sewing machine cover for my Janome Sewist 525S. It gets moved around our house a lot and seems to collect dust very easily! I also started work on a sewing project which uses black fabric, and realised that my thread was picking up all the dust from inside my machine…so a cover is definitely needed! Read More
